Utility construction – office building BlueWater Energy services

The new office building of BlueWater Energy services bv in Hoofddorp is a BREEAM building. BREEAM-NL New Construction and Renovation is the leading certification in the Netherlands for determining the sustainability performance of new buildings. With a final score of 78%, the office building is highly sustainable. This project falls under the Utility Construction category and was completed in September 2014.

A healthy work environment, the “New Way of Working”, and internal communication possibilities are optimally incorporated in the new office building at Park 20/20. The open workspaces and a spacious atrium provide an optimal internal communication platform and a healthy work environment for the various departments and projects. The application of Cradle to Cradle principles also leads to a better indoor climate, a higher residual value, and flexibility of the building. This was also the immediate reason in this project to replace the originally prescribed natural stone wall coping stones with low-maintenance and Cradle to Cradle certified coping stones from Holonite. Because the wall coping stones are also applied in a sealant-free version, virtually no maintenance is required on both the product and product transitions (joints).
