Unique Town Hall in Doorn

In the summer of 2013, the brand new municipal office of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug municipality was completed in Doorn. Three separate buildings together form the accommodation for over 200 civil servants.

The adjacent existing cultural center had previously functioned as a town hall. From an urban planning perspective and to protect the landscape, it was decided not to make the municipal office too tall. Parking facilities have been created in the basement, and there is a souterrain for meeting rooms and the staff restaurant. The rustic, traditional style of the town hall fits perfectly with the park-like region.

In this project, Holonite contributed with insulated facade plinths, window sills, and custom stair treads. The insulated facade plinths not only give the old rose facades a stately look but simultaneously protect the vulnerable base of the building. The light-colored window sills beautifully complement the white window shutters. Finally, the custom stair treads complete the ensemble and provide a good connection to the underlying parking basement. Holonite has equipped the stair treads with molded anti-slip profiles.
