Renovation Project: Serena II | Zevenbergen
Functional & aesthetic renovation!
Renovation Project: Serena II | Zevenbergen
Housing project Serena II in Zevenbergen has been renovated on behalf of merger corporation Woonkwartier (formerly Brabantse Waarde, Woningstichting Dinteloord and Bernardus Wonen). The execution was realized by contractor Zwaluwe Bouw. VVR Architects was responsible for the entire design of the project.
Serena, a complete renovation project, has given the neighborhood a completely different appearance. The plan, built in phases, completes the final part of the project with Serena II. The 107 homes have received a significant makeover. In addition to the necessary planned maintenance, a number of aesthetic improvements were made to the appearance and energy-saving measures were implemented.
The Serena neighborhood used to be called Zoetendaal. Built in the 1970s according to the standards of that time. Small, stacked houses, many stairwells and maze-like routes. A very typical streetscape for the 1970s.
The distinction between public and private areas is now much more visible with the Serena II project. For street experience and social control, blind facades have been broken up with new window openings, high parapets have been lowered, and hidden stairwell entrances have been made more prominent.
In this renovation project, our reveals, window sills, and facade plinths have been integrated into one beautiful whole. All our products are manufactured in the Natura dark grey color, which, in combination with the striking purple-colored front doors, comes together beautifully. The choice for these specific products helps to upgrade the streetscape and ensure that the neighborhood has fully kept up with the times.
