Renovation of 54 Homes in Alphen aan den Rijn

In Alphen aan den Rijn, in the Vermeer and Ruisdael streets, Blanksma Construction Company has renovated 54 homes commissioned by housing association wonenCentraal. The work carried out consisted partly of planned maintenance such as exterior painting, renewal of kitchens, bathrooms, and toilets. And partly of improving the safety, health, and comfort of the homes. This included installing mechanical ventilation, removing geysers, and adding other energy-saving provisions such as double glazing and facade insulation. Asbestos-containing materials were also mapped out per home and then removed.

Holonite contributed to this project with custom-made dark gray frames and porch elements. The window frames with the surrounding recessed frames are, as it were, highlighted in 3D and provide the busy, colorful facade with a subtle finish. The custom-made decorative elements above the doors insinuate an imposing entrance while maximizing consideration for light incidence. The frames are composed of three parts: lintels, window sills, and reveals, and were also custom-made for this project. The facade is equipped with an external wall insulation system with brick slips. All Holonite products are Cradle to Cradle certified. Because Holonite products are low-maintenance, wonenCentraal is permanently relieved of most maintenance for the coming years.
