Project: The Cburg College | Amsterdam
Tholen, September 23, 2019 – The Cburg College; an eye-catcher for the Amsterdam district Zeeburgereiland. The beautiful, sleek building with its impressive window frames immediately stands out. The Cburg College is a small-scale VMBO which is part of the Secondary Education in Amsterdam. Prior to construction, it was decided to emphasize sustainability, transparency, and overview and translate these into the interior and exterior of the building. This project is a design by RAU architects and executed by Janssen de Jong Bouw Oost B.V.
The prominently present framing around the window sections in this project comes from Holonite, as do the window sills and windowsills. Holonite produces and distributes its facade and finishing elements made of composite stone. The unique window frames combined with the smaller vertical window sections give the building a playful effect. The impressive window frames emphasize the core values of Cburg College and contribute to the desired appearance. Inside and outside form a unity. The window frames and window sills are executed in the standard basic color white, which contributes to the chic appearance.
The Holonite window frames in the Cburg College project beautifully demonstrate the effect that framing has on the appearance of the building. It is a relatively simple way to embellish a (commercial) property and/or residence. The Holonite framing provides a luxurious and modern appearance to the building.
