New construction project De Nieuwe Kaai

In collaboration with the Municipality of Bergen op Zoom, ERA Contour has built the new residential neighborhood “De Nieuwe Kaai.” This project consists of 2 phases. The 49 single-family homes (phase 2) are part of the ScheldeVesting, also known as the largest inner-city development in Bergen op Zoom. Living, working, and recreation seamlessly blend together here! The construction style is characterized by the many historical details for which Bergen op Zoom is so well-known and which make this city so unique. Such as the Bergse stoepje, the facade gardens, and the urban streets. The architecture, managed by Architectenbureau van Manen, is inspired by buildings and monuments from the neighborhood. Unique to this project is that during a residential workshop, (a part of) the residents of Bergen op Zoom contributed to the needs that are central when it comes to attractive living. In other words, optimal comfort and the space of a modern single-family home in a charming part of Bergen op Zoom.

Prominently present are the beautiful Holonite door frames. Completely custom-made and very characteristic due to the stately decorative elements located directly above the entrances of the homes.
