Circular Construction Expedition

The transition to a circular construction economy is in full swing. To inspire the construction sector and provide practical knowledge, the Cradle to Cradle Construction Group, of which Holonite is a proud member, is organizing a unique Construction Expedition in Venlo on October 9. Participants will get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at leading C2C projects.

Sustainability is no longer just a buzzword; it’s a necessity. Building according to the Cradle to Cradle (C2C) principle is one of the most concrete and effective approaches. While traditional “sustainable” construction focuses on reducing negative impact, C2C goes a step further. The goal is to create a positive impact: all materials are designed to serve as “nutrients” for new products after use, without loss of quality. It’s a closed loop, inspired by nature.

As a pioneer in the building materials industry and a C2C-certified manufacturer, Holonite has been committed to this philosophy for years. Participation in the C2C Construction Group perfectly aligns with this vision. The group, consisting of ambitious manufacturers, shares the mission to spread and stimulate the principles of the circular economy.

Two practical examples in one day

The Construction Expedition in Venlo is a rare opportunity to experience C2C philosophy and products. The program offers not just theory, but primarily concrete practical examples.

The expedition starts at the recently renovated Van der Valk Hotel in Venlo, a notable example of C2C architecture. Management chose to renovate the hotel according to the “Hotel for Life” principle, focusing on circular materials that form a raw materials bank for the future. Participants will receive a tour and see the tangible results of this approach.

Next on the program is a visit to AMI, a manufacturer of aluminum building hardware. AMI is the only manufacturer worldwide in its category with C2C certification for a large part of their product range. A tour through the production facility shows how a manufacturing company has used C2C certification to differentiate itself and demonstrably make its products more sustainable.

Knowledge, inspiration and networking

The day is a unique opportunity for architects, developers, manufacturers, and other construction professionals. Besides the inspiring tours, the expedition offers a platform to network with colleagues and engage directly with speakers such as architect Max Markusse and C2C Construction Group chairman Kees Verweel.

The approach of the C2C Construction Group aligns seamlessly with Holonite’s mission to make the construction sector more sustainable and innovative.

Want to see the theory of circular construction translated into practice? Don’t miss this opportunity!
